Membership Benefits

To become a PPDBA member all applicants must first complete an independent vet audit and internal review process before membership will be granted. Membership is allocated as full membership only, no probationary members. While each membership is being reviewed you are not considered a member. Membership pertains to the breeder and not individual dogs/progeny.

Members are required to have a Contract of Sale/Terms and Conditions of Purchase in place for all dog purchases outlining terms of the sale and post-sale obligations. This must be accessible for all customers as a condition of sale before purchase. This is to ensure transparency of the purchase experience for the consumer and clearly defines the breeder’s obligations to the purchaser before, during and post-sale. This can be advertised on breeder websites or provided by email/hardcopy and is a binding legal document.

The annual membership fee to become a PPDBA member is $500 AUD. Full payment is processed by PayPal, only after the application approval process is successful. The PPDBA approval process is detailed below:

Steps to becoming a member

Step 1: To become a member, a breeder needs to complete an Expression of Interest (Membership Application below) and submit it for review.

Step 2: Applicants have their identity and property address verified by PPDBA.

Step 3: The applicant is to source a licensed veterinary practitioner to complete the PPDBA vet audit and provide PPDBA with veterinary contact details.

Step 4: PPDBA will contact the nominated veterinary practitioner with audit documentation to be completed, including photos submitted with the Expression of Interest form.

Step 5: PPDBA to complete an internal review of the completed vet audit. The breeder will receive email notification of approved or declined application status.
